This week I dragged my friend along with me to see the Hubert Givenchy Exhibit at El Museo de arte Thyssen-Bornemisza. I had walked by the museum a few weeks ago and saw that this temporary exhibit was coming at the end of October and knew that I would be back. I must admit, this is one of the few museums that has ever genuinely excited me. I was dying to put my hands on some of fabric and excited to see the accessories he paired the pieces with.

It was amazing to see some of the most memorable gowns from Givenchy's collections and neat to have them all together in one space. They were true, timeless pieces, as many dresses dated back to the 50's and would still be worn by women today.

Givenchy gained credibility as he began creating dresses for leading female figures such as Jackie Kennedy and Audrey Hepburn. His work became closely associated with such prominent figures which helped to develop his brand and his identity.

I added a few pictures of some of my favorite pieces but they definitely don't do the exhibit justice. If you're in Madrid and have time to stop by the museum before the collection leaves on January 18th I would HIGHLY recommend it!
