Item of the Week: Striped Bikinis

This past weekend, the Hanau family was lucky enough to have Tay and the rest of the Reynolds come to Fishers Island for a quick "modern family" trip (which if any of you are friends with us on any social media, we apologize ;)). We were so excited to finally have the time and more importantly, environment, to photograph some new things for Tinner that we've been dying to share with you this summer!! This look, however, was not on our original photo-shoot agenda...

Despite Tay's knowledge and even preference, I snapped a pic of her in this simple but flattering Zinke bathing suit, paired with my favorite Karen Walker tortoise shades. Tay could probably be a professional deal finder and got the bikini 50% off of its original price. As often as we mix and match bikini tops and bottoms, there's something awesome about going back to the basics of wearing matching tops and bottoms. For that, we decided to make the striped bikini our ITEM OF THE WEEK!

Bikinis are always hard because they're not items you wear year-round and the cutest ones usually make the biggest dents in our wallets. BUT as we reach the mid-point of the summer (depressing, I know), our favorite brands are marking down their best suits and tempting us with deals we just can't avoid. Get 'Em While They're Hot (on sale!)

As the end of the summer approaches, now is the best time to purchase any of those swimsuits, dresses or sandals you've been eyeing all season. Though often times it's hard to find a full suit that is on sale and in your size, it's always a good excuse to try mixing and matching.

I've pulled a few bathing suit bottoms and tops that are being offered at crazy discounts in hopes that some of them can be paired together to create a really cute suit. Beyond swimwear, keep your eyes open on some of your other favorite designers because everyone from Rag & Bone to All Saints to Barneys are having some pretty major sales.

... and as we all know I'm the world's biggest bargain shopper and will never buy anything full price :) so take it from me, these sales are insane.

One pieces are a simple way to avoid stressing over how you look in a bikini this summer. Especially with July 4th coming up, I'm sure most of us can agree that isn't always easy. Try going for a cutout one piece, like this one from target, that brings the attention away from your stomach and onto your face.

This narrowing shape is sliming on ALL body types. Finding one with a busy and bright pattern is especially flattering as it hides anything you don't want to show on your stomach.

Just Keep Swimming. Happy Friday!!

If you follow any sort of bloggers or even check Instagram regularly, you've probably already seen these Kiini Swimsuits. I first noticed them on the blogs @somethingnavy and Natasha Oakley's @abikiniaday (P.S. Natasha Oakley basically makes a living off of wearing swimsuits so visit her blog or check out abikiniaday.com for swimsuit inspiration).

Regardless, these Kiini crochet bikinis seem to be the hot item this summer and are definitely worth checking out. Although I was hesitant to do a post about them because a full set comes in  around $275, it is a timeless piece that will never go out of style.

Well made, cute bikinis are not cheap and this is no exception. But if you live at the beach all summer and can appreciate a really nice bikini, this swimsuit is perfect for you.

Lilly Pulitzer's Collaboration with Target!

For all our preppy people out there, the day has finally arrived that Lilly Pulitzer and Target have released the line of their upcoming collaboration. The bold patterns and bright colors that usually define Lilly's line are found in each and every piece!

Swimming Through Exams

Happy almost Spring Break!!! Although I am not going anywhere warm and sunny, I could not be more excited to head home. I'm swamped with midterms and projects this week so this post will be short and simple!

Last night a Victoria Secret package came for one of my roommates with this adorable new bikini. I thought I would share it, as it is both affordable and cute. It looks IDENTICAL to a suit from Zinke (which I'm obsessed with) but comes at a fraction of the price! She ordered the blue and paired it with a different bottom (love love love). The color is a little more subtle then the picture and just so cute - I can't get over it!

While it might be a little late for those that are going on Spring Break next week, there still is time to order it for those that have theirs later!

Treat yourself this Valentines Day!

This Valentines Day, treat yourself to something you've had your eye on. Whether you're celebrating with a boy or going to see Fifty Shades with your girl friends, it's always fun to treat yourself to something nice during this cold time when everyone needs a little pick me up. Tory Burch Tuesday!

This bathing suit from Tory Burch is without a doubt a must-have for making a statement on the beach over spring break or this summer. We love the print on the suit but also the shape. It's flattering without being too much and highlights the best parts of any girl's body! This coverup is also a good addition to any beach outfit because it is simple and can be worn with a variety of swimsuits. It can also be dressed up at night (with a slip underneath), maybe with a pair of Tory Burch wedges or statement necklace. Make sure to visit the Tory website for other timeless  pieces.
