As spring slowly but surely approaches, sometimes the one accessory that can bring an entire outfit together is your favorite pair of sunglasses. We are recently obsessed with the trend of sunglasses that are little less traditional than the simple tortoise or black Ray Bans.

The hardest part about buying a pair of sunglasses with color or an eccentric shape is that you don't want to spend a lot on a pair you can't wear everyday. Recently, we have discovered a brand called Kimono that has durable but inexpensive, chic glasses that are the perfect buy if you're looking to have a somewhat edgy pair in your back pocket. In addition to the more "out-there" glasses, companies are making those same classic looks but at affordable prices because they are finally realizing people don't always want to spend hundreds on sunglasses when they're easy to lose.

THE White Jean

White Jeans ($168.00) || Sunglasses ($177.00) || Shirt (SIMILAR-ON SALE-$69.99) || Shoes

As the weather gets warmer and we are confronted with the inevitable reality of facing our white jeans, it's always exciting to look into different styles that you'll be excited about wearing throughout the spring and summer. On our spring break a couple weeks ago, we couldn't avoid taking away from some beach time to shop at the amazing stores in Palm Beach (unfortunately just sticking to just window shopping on Worth Avenue,) and Izzy found these amazing AG white jeans on sale at Calypso. I know for me, when I buy white jeans, comfort is the first thing I look for and these ones are not only flattering and look amazing, but they're soft material makes them as comfortable as a pair of leggings. AG has an incredible selection of white jeans that makes it THE place to start when searching for the perfect pair for you.

One of the many things that Tay and I have learned since we started Tinner over a year ago is the different ways to alter and add to our own personal styles based on the unique fashion choices of our friends and peers. Izzy has somewhat of a preppier style than our usual style, often rocking  a cute button down and sweater or putting together other stylish but preppy items that I would never initially think of but that I'm obsessed with.

Here, Izzy rocks an "oversized" (normal sized on the rest of us,) J. Crew pullover collared shirt with her new AGs and her favorite Stubbs & Wootton flats. Paired with the crowd favorite Illesteva sunny Gs, simply gold jewelry, and pearls, this look is perfect for a beach bonfire or for class as we finally transition into spring here in Virginia.

Stay tuned for a post this week with our top ten favorite sunglasses right now, including these bold Illestevas, all at affordable prices and unique styles that are perfect for the upcoming warm weather!

Everyday Earrings

by Tinner in

We're always looking for new earrings, both bold and bright or subtle and simple, that can be added to our wardrobe. Earrings are the easiest way to spruce up any outfit and give it that needed little touch. I pulled a few from Shopbop that I recently came across and LOVE - Ear climbers, hoops and everything in between!

Try adding them to your spring collection and let us know what you think by commenting below!

Michael Kors Hoops ($65) || Ca & Lou Edie Ear Cuff ($115) || Gorjana Paige Double Drop Earrings ($65) || Jules Smith Wave Bar Ear Crawler ($45)

Best Dressed @ the Oscars

by Tinner

Anytime there is an awards show, I am the first to look at what everyone is wearing. Last night was a super busy night, so as I cooked dinner, I was running back and forth from the TV to the kitchen to see everyone walk the carpet!

Though we have our classics, like Reese Witherspoon and Cate Blanchett, who always look amazing, there were a few surprises this year. Take Gwenyth Paltrow, for example, who showed up in a tight, light pink one shoulder dress with a giant flower resting on the left shoulder. Something about it screamed a bad prom dress from the 80's.

The others, however, were STUNNING! A few of my favorites included, Sienna Miller (Oscar de la Renta), Naomi Watts (Armani), Emma Stone (Elie Saab Haute Couture), Rosamund Pike (Givenchy), and Jennifer Lopez (Elie Saab).

Trending among the outfits were nude dresses, statement necklaces, and bandage dresses. We loved the simplicity that most celebs went with and were excited to see so many amazing gowns!

FASHION WEEK

by Tinner

As New York Fashion week closes, I find myself obsessing over not only what the models are wearing and doing backstage, but also what the fashion editors, bloggers and celebs are wearing to the shows. Each and every morning I've been following 'New York Times Fashion' on Instagram, Altamira NYC and WWD to keep up with all of the amazing madness!

It seems as though there are a few patterns as to what people are wearing. Bold prints and bright colors were paired together to make statement outfits that always seemed to outdo the next. Oversized fur jackets, fur accessories, fur boots, and fur hats, seemed to be a common denominator. Beyond this however, the sunglasses women wore were also pretty consistent. Though mirrored sunglasses were definitely prevalent, they all seemed to have a modest cat-eye shape.

I haven't always been crazy about cat-eye glasses but something about this new, relaxed shape is much more wearable/realistic. Above are a few pictures of ones that I loved. Let us know what you think by commenting below so we can try to post a few affordable options later this week!!
