Romantic Florals

by Tinner in , , ,

Hi guys! Let’s talk about trends we’ve seen for a little while- “romantic florals,” open shoulder, high waist jeans and gladiators. They’ve been around for a while and they’re still in -it’s time to invest in them.

The shirt I’m wearing, I immediately fell in love with. I thought it was a really special top and this season I had always admired how special looking floral Zimmermann tops looked, but I never wanted to spend close to $500 on one Zimmermann top. This top was perfect because it had the floral pattern that I wanted and the silhouette that I wanted of the open shoulders and it was the perfect price for me. I got it on sale at Intermix, its Intermix’s exclusive line, and they had so many more floral items I loved at an affordable price.

The Intermix top I’m wearing looks pretty similar to the Zimmermann ones I love, so why is the Intermix one so much less? It’s because it’s Intermix’s exclusive line- they can mark their items lower, while producing items of the same quality because they are selling direct to consumer not wholesale. I highly recommend buying items that are direct to consumer like items from the Intermix exclusive line, “Bop Basics” on Shopbop or Aqua from Bloomingdales.

As for my jeans- I needed a new pair of ripped jeans and figured I’d give high-waisted a try! I’m so happy I did because I now pair them with almost anything; my shorter tops that need to be with a high jean and regular tops that I tuck in or let hang and cover the high waist. Mine are from Revolve, there’s no sale going on with Revolve right now but if you use the code “Tulip” you receive 15% off all merchandise that’s not a best seller or a new arrival.

Stay tuned later this week for my post for Fourth of July weekend essentials!

Navigating SHOPBOP

by Tinner in , ,

Shopbop always offers a really nice selection of pieces and accessories coming from an array of designers and incorporating a variety of different styles. They also always have an incredible sale that is filled with rows upon rows of really cute shoes, tops, dresses and everything in between. However, my biggest issue with their sale is that it takes at least a full hour to sort through the 40 pages of apparel that are on sale.

SO, to make everyones life a little bit easier, we pulled a few items that we've been eyeing for a while. Click the links below to see if there are any you love!

Current/Elliot The Stiletto Skinny Ankle Jean ($138.60 down from $198) ||IRO Oz Jumpsuit ($418.2 down from $697) || Equipment Keira Blouse ($187.6 down from $268) || Joie A la Plage Solimar Flat Sandals ($136.5 down from $195) || Sophie Hulme, Mini Envelope Bag ($468 down from $585) || Tory Burch Snake Print Loafer Cut Espadrilles ($129.5 down from $185)

Spring SALES

by Tinner in , ,

As the first day of my summer internship approaches, I've been starting to think more about what I plan on wearing and what work clothes I need more of. So, yesterday my mom and I set off for the mall to find a few staples -- tops, skirts, nice pants, and everything in between. (I even surprised myself and bought this amazing navy jumpsuit that J.Crew came out with the day before).

While it totally depends on the culture of the company you are working for, a cute t (like this one from J.Crew) paired with a blazer and white jeans can be a very easy and classic outfit for work. The blazer definitely makes this ensemble a little more work appropriate/presentable but the t is really cute on its own and would look great with a pair of ripped jeans (for a more casual look). Plus, the jewels on this shirt make it a bit different and dress it up more than a regular t.

These sandals are a recent purchase from Forever21 and come in a variety of metallics as well as a deep red (incredibly hard to find the right size online though). I am obsessed with them, and for only $8.90 I think they are the steal of the summer.

More to come with ideas for what to wear for your summer internships/jobs but for now, shop this look below and take advantage of all of the sales J.Crew has going on -- don't forget about their 15% off discount and show your student ID!

J.Crew Embellished T ($59.99 + 25% off) || J.Crew Navy Blazer ($178 + 25% off) || Rich & Skinny White Jeans ($96.35) || Forever 21 Sandals ($8.90) || Nail polish: Essie, Bahama Mama ($8.50)

Coachella Inspired Outfits

Everytime I go on Instagram, my feed is flooded with everything Coachella. While I am incredibly jealous of all those that get to go, it also seems like the perfect chance to do a bohemian themed blog post, as Coachella is defined by crochet dresses/rompers, big necklaces, mirrored sunglasses and gladiator sandals.

I pulled a few different options from Revolve Clothing that i feel fit this look perfectly. Coachella is all about fashion and it's fun to see what the different celebs and bloggers chose to wear.

Simple Essentials

Buying work clothes and clothes to go out in are often times very different and not appropriate for the other. Thus, expanding your wardrobe can be difficult as its hard to pick and chose between buying more for one. The outfit, pictured above, can be mixed and matched with other pieces to fit both because it uses items that are simple and understated.

A structured black skirt is a staple that you should have in your closet. It can be worn in all seasons (with tights in the winter) and dressed both up and down.

This Zara crop top was initially bought as a going out shirt. Though paired with this skirt, it becomes effortlessly appropriate for work (if you are working for a more low key company - such as advertising or fashion). Wear the top with a tighter skirt when going out at night and capitalize on its versatility.

These Tory Burch 'Reggie Sandals' are a very easy and comfortable shoe. The thick heel dresses the outfit up while keeping it more casual than pumps. They were our favorite work shoes this summer!

Skirt (Similar $118) || Crop Top (Similar) || Shoes (Silver ON SALE $206.50) || Bag ($39.95)

Just A Lil' More White

by Tinner in , ,

Obviously the "no-white after labor day" is generally a good rule to abide by but with some irresistible white items, it has to be ignored. These 7 jeans are an absolute favorite of ours and can be worn through September as the red leather tuxedo stripe opens the chance to bring in Fall colors.

We also love these shoes Dolce Vita sandals that can continue to be worn, especially if you live somewhere warm! Throw a white sweater, like this pullover from Vince, over a cute shirt, like this one from Love Stitch, to make a cozy but cute outfit -- perfect for a chilly night!
